4. Washougal Wins When Everyone Pitches In!

   Volunteer Pledge

6. As a proud member of the Washougal community, I pledge to take action and care for the beauty, cleanliness, and health of our shared public spaces. By signing this pledge, I confirm:
   • I will dedicate one to two hours per week to litter removal within Washougal city limits for the remainder of 2025, with a goal of 40 hours before 12/31/2025.
   • I understand this is a self-directed effort and I am responsible for choosing safe, appropriate locations and times to perform my litter pickup.
   • I understand that I am performing this task at my own risk, and I agree to take all reasonable precautions to ensure my safety and the safety of others.
   • I may invite family members or group members to participate alongside me, and I will ensure they follow the same guidelines and safety measures.
   • I will follow all local safety guidelines, including using appropriate safety gear, disposing of litter properly, and avoiding hazardous materials.
   • I will notify Sherry Montgomery or Amanda Ramsey (contact details below) if I come across trash I am unable to manage such as bulk items, dump sites, needles, hazardous materials, etc. 
   • I am aware batteries require special disposal methods.
   • I will serve as an ambassador of civic pride, encouraging others to take part in keeping Washougal clean and beautiful.
   • I will document my efforts and share my experience on social media as I am able by using the official program hashtag #WashougalWins or tag us @WashougalGov

   By signing below, I release the City of Washougal and its affiliates from liability for any injuries or damages incurred during my voluntary participation in this self-directed program.
