Temporary Closure of Southbound 32nd Street for Rail Crossing Project Preparations

City of Washougal Latest News Posted on September 08, 2025 | Last Updated on September 23, 2025

The City of Washougal, in coordination with contractor Stacy and Witbeck, will temporarily close the southbound lane of 32nd Street at the railroad tracks between Evergreen Way and B Street from Monday, September 15 through Tuesday, September 23, between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily. The closure is necessary to support geotechnical and survey work for the upcoming 32nd Street Rail Crossing Project.

Crews will be conducting borings and survey activities adjacent to the railroad tracks to help advance the project’s design. A signed detour will be in place to guide traffic around the closure.

Variable message signs (VMS) will also be placed on Evergreen Way and 32nd Street beginning Thursday, September 11, to provide advance notice to drivers.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve infrastructure and safety in our community.
