The City of Washougal is investing in a significant series of infrastructure projects along the 32nd Street corridor—each supporting a safer, more connected, and economically vibrant community.
The 32nd Street Rail Crossing Project will eliminate a hazardous rail crossing and introduce multi-modal enhancements that support long-term growth, safety and regional freight mobility.
Complementing this effort are the 32nd Street Safety Enhancements, which target key safety upgrades—such as new pavement markings, lighting, and guardrails—between Addy Street and Stiles Road.
In parallel, the 32nd Street Widening Project focuses on critical pedestrian, bicycle, and intersection upgrades between Webster Lane and W Street, promoting safer access for all users, particularly near local schools.
Together, these interrelated projects form a cohesive corridor strategy that advances local infrastructure while directly supporting the vision outlined in Washougal’s 2023–2028 Strategic Plan: to create a safe and vibrant community. Aligned with the plan’s strategic priorities—Smart Growth and Enhancing Core Services—these projects reflect thoughtful planning and targeted investments in infrastructure that enhance safety, improve mobility, and promote equitable access for all residents.
