Hometown Heroes
Honoring Community Service and Civic Dedication
Each year, the City of Washougal hosts Hometown Heroes, a special ceremony dedicated to recognizing the individuals and organizations who make a lasting difference in our community. This annual event is a celebration of service, honoring the volunteers, board and commission members, nonprofit organizations, and local leaders who give their time and talents to improve the quality of life in Washougal.
Volunteers play a vital role in the city’s success. Whether shaping public policy, supporting the arts, mentoring youth, or meeting essential needs through community service, their impact is seen and felt in every corner of our city. Washougal’s Boards and Commissions help guide decisions on everything from city planning to parks and public safety. Local nonprofits and civic organizations deliver services and programs that enrich lives and foster a sense of connection and care.
The City of Washougal extends its heartfelt thanks to each of these honorees and to all community volunteers. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment help make Washougal a vibrant, welcoming, and resilient place to live, work, and thrive.
