The Assistant to the City Manager provides executive level and confidential administrative support to the Mayor, City Council, City Administrator, Finance Director and the Human Resources Director. She attends all meetings of the City Council and is responsible for producing meeting videos, assists in oversight of the city’s website, organizes and conveys information regarding city sponsored events, and serves as a liaison between the city and various community groups, such as Meals-on-Wheels, Refuel Washougal, and other non-profit organizations. Her mission is to create a cohesive relationship between local government and the community it serves.
Rose joined the City in 1997, working in Community Development through 2011, at which time she became the Assistant to the City Administrator and Mayor. Prior to joining the city, she was employed by the Washougal School District, Liberty Mutual Insurance, City of Portland Water Bureau, and the City of St. Helens Public Library. She is a graduate of the Sharon Lance School of Business and has certifications through Community Mediation Services (CMS
) and the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI
