The City of Washougal lost a passionate public servant. George “Jeff” Guard passed away early morning on Tuesday February 4, 2020.
He served as Washougal’s Mayor for one term from 2002-2005. He also served on the Washougal City Council for a total of nine years as well as on the Washougal Planning Commission, the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Committee, the Washougal School District Foundation Board of Directors, and a number of other committees.
The Washougal city flag will be lowered to half-staff for four days beginning Monday, February 10 through February 14 in honor of his four years as mayor.
The family will host a large potluck in Jeff’s honor on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 2-4 pm at the Union Hall in downtown Camas located at 5th and Dallas Street.
