Washougal Police Department Participates in Pink Patch Project for Breast Cancer Awareness

IMG_0016Washougal Police Department is joining several other police agencies in Washington (including La Center, Ridgefield and Battle Ground) in the Pink Patch Project. This project is to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer charities. During the month of October, Washougal officers will wear pink shoulder patches on their uniforms. Additionally, there are 100 additional patches that Washougal PD is selling for charity at $10 each. All net proceeds will be donated to the Pink Lemonade Project (https://www.pinklemonadeproject.org/).

How to Purchase a Pink Patch

Pink patches can be purchased at the Washougal Police Department located at 1320 A Street during normal business hours (9am-5pm). Only cash will be accepted ($10 each). Please call 360.835.8701 and a staff member will meet you outside the station to complete the purchase. Physical distancing and low contact guidelines are being observed. Please wear a face covering.

About the Pink Patch Project

The Pink Patch Project is an innovative campaign to increase public awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds for the fight against the disease. It is a collaborative effort between the LACPCA and over 390 public safety agencies throughout the United States. The program centers on vibrant pink versions of the agency's uniform patches. Employees from the participating agencies will be wearing these pink patches on their uniforms during "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" this October. The pink patches are intended to stimulate conversation within the community and to encourage public awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer.
