City of Washougal Community Message #6 on COVID-19 Response - May 31, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 31, 2020

Today City Manager David Scott issued Emergency Order 20-05. The order was issued to reflect the expiration of Governor Inslee’s ”Stay Home – Stay Healthy” Proclamation today, and the transition to the “Safe Start, Stay Healthy” plan effective tomorrow. The order extends the prior emergency orders until Phase 4 of the “Safe Start, Stay Healthy” plan, with the following specific provisions:

Gatherings shall be permitted consistent with the “Safe Start, Stay Healthy” limitations and city permitting requirements.

City building facilities will remain closed to the public until Phase 3, consistent with the “Safe Start, Stay Healthy” plan. Building facilities will re-open in a phased manner incorporating customer service and employee protocols consistent with public health guidelines.

All programming at City facilities run by the City or other organizations are suspended or limited as follows:

  • Monday through Thursday Meals on Wheels People and Refuel Washougal Friday Meals: box lunches to go only until Phase 4, and when in-person dining is re-started that all health and sanitation protocols and requirements are met
  • Washougal Senior Association and Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of SW Exercise Classes: All Community Center activities are suspended until Phase 4, and when re-started that all health and sanitation protocols and requirements are met
  • Other activities: suspended until the appropriate Phase and when re-started shall meet all health and sanitation protocols and requirements.

Non-essential meetings are suspended until the appropriate Phase (3 or 4) and when re-started shall meet all health and sanitation protocols and requirements.

City Council Meetings will be held virtually until the appropriate Phase (3 or 4) and consistent with any proclamation issued by the governor, and when in-person meetings are re-started they shall meet all health and sanitation protocols and requirements.

Restrictions on private mortgage foreclosures, commercial evictions and residential inspections shall stay in place until Phase 3, unless sooner terminated by Council.
