Julie Russell

Biography

Julie Russell was elected to the Washougal City Council, Position 6, in November 2017. She began serving her four year term on January 2018. Julie moved to Washougal from the Tigard/Bull Mountain area of Washington County, Oregon in 2015. Julie has been married to Evan for 34 years, and the proud parent of four wonderful grown children and a happy grandmother to one beautiful granddaughter.

Employment

Julie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist. She has offices in Tigard and Vancouver and believes her work and training gives her a unique set of skills to work collaboratively with others.

Julie’s Educational background includes a Master Degree from George Fox University in Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy, a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University, in Psychology, and an Associate Degree in Geography (Travel and Tourism) also from Brigham Young University.

Community Service

Julie serves on the Finance Committee, the Public Works Committee and is the City Council Liaison on the Cemetery Board.

Julie brings enthusiasm and leadership experience to the City of Washougal. She has been heavily involved in municipal and community affairs for many years. Julie cares deeply about the livability of our neighborhoods and community. She loves the parks, trails and open spaces that are available around Washougal, and believe you have done a wonderful job at creating and maintaining them. She is excited to become involved in civic affairs and looks forward to getting to know all of you better.
