George Schmid Ball Field Picture 1 The George Schmid Memorial Ball Field Complex is located at 4855 Evergreen Way, adjacent to the Washougal School Administration Office and maintenance shop. The City of Washougal’s Mable Kerr Park borders the property to the North. As a cooperative effort between the City of Washougal and the Washougal School District, The George Schmid Memorial Ball Field Complex offers the community a place to play! Still in the development stages, the existing site currently offers two baseball fields. In the future, the School District plans to develop the remaining property for classroom and sports field expansion. Although WSD owns the property, the City of Washougal successfully pursued a 2007 Youth Athletic Facilities Grant through the Recreation and Conservation Office. The funds from this grant assisted in building ball field #2, ADA access throughout the site, parking and seating. Columbia Credit Union, East County Little League, and George Schmid & Sons contributed donations towards this project. The remaining elements left to complete the details of this sports complex include adding a softball field, concessions, and restrooms. Currently, this final phase of the project remains “on hold” due elevated costs of construction; however, both agencies continue to search for funding sources to complete this project!
