The Water / Wastewater Division of Public Works strives to stay sustainable by performing a variety of preventative maintenance to avoid costly repairs and service outages. Examples of these are leak survey's, tank inspections, pipeline videos, point repairs and water recycling. These programs are sustainable because they drastically reduce the need for emergency repairs and associated service outages. At the heart of the preventative programs is being able to identify problems before the cause a drop in level of service. This allows us to plan and or shop for alternatives or fixes which have the most value. As a rule emergencies require more energy, resources and time than prevention.
