Animal Control

The cities of Camas and Washougal know that your dog is a valued member of your household. As such, the Camas-Washougal Animal Control Division of the Washougal Police Department was formed to help safeguard your pet. The Animal Control Division also works within these communities to address neglected, abused, loose and vicious dogs, barking dogs complaints, dog bites, and lost and found dogs.

Animal Control News

Federal and state laws do not allow animal control officers to address problems, handle, relocate or otherwise interfere with any types of wildlife, including but not limited to raccoon, opossum, birds or other animals. Officers will, however, be available to answer questions and assist on the scene until appropriate resources can be summoned to assist you.

Federal and state agencies that can assist you with problems related to wildlife can be found on the "Animal Control Resources" Menu of this website.

With the exception of animal cruelty cases, state law and city ordinances do not allow officers to address issues regarding domestic felines (cats). Again, you can find agencies that can help you with feline-related problems by accessing the "Animal Control Resources"Menu.
